Announcement for members signed with RCxLink
Exchange before June 1 2007
RCxLink service has changed. New plug-in was developed to better handle links
exchange. Links display page (part of the plug-in) is now available for Rapid
Classified and non Rapid Classified sites with ASP/PHP support.
You are encouraged to download and install new plug-in during the course
of next 3 weeks.
To download and install plug-in:
- Logon to your account.
- Make sure the "RC" column in site link properties is properly
configured. Edit the link if necessary and correct the "RC" property as
following:
Any site running Rapid Classified software (regardless of version) should
now have "RC" setting configured as "YES"
Any other site should have it configured as "NO"
- Click "Instruct" in "Action"
column for each site you have submitted to RCxLink service and follow brief
instructions at the presented page.
Again, make sure to update your service in the next 3 weeks. If the service is
not updated during that period of time your link might be suspended because the old
service would no longer be supported after 3 weeks.
Following has changed in relation to sites running Rapid Classified:
- RSS feed module would no longer be used for RCxLink exchange. After new plug-in
is installed, you may delete RCxLink_Exchange entry from RSS management.
- Sites running any version of RC should now select "YES" from "RC" drop-down list
at the site properties.
- New plug-in installation only requires unloading 2 pages to the site and
creating an HTML link (most of the participated sites already have a proper link
in place).
- Exchange page is partitioned (paged) for future service expansion.
- The exchange cache is stored within .xml file in cl_upload folder and
automatically updated every 24 hours.
Following has changed in relation to sites other that Rapid Classified:
- For sites with ASP support, the old plug-in with .mdb database is no longer
valid.
- Sites with PHP support may participate in RCxLink exchange without the need to
create custom RSS feed reader.
- Any site with ASP or PHP only requires unloading 2 pages to the site and
creating an HTML link.
- Exchange page is partitioned (paged) for future service expansion.
- The exchange cache is stored within .xml file and automatically updated every 24
hours.
